Description
The Autoimmune Genetics Laboratory is looking for a skilled and motivated postdoctoral fellow. This internationally recognized research group is embedded in the infrastructure of the VIB and KU Leuven and consists of three major research divisions: the tissue and disease team, the molecular Treg team and the primary immunodeficiency team that unite to understand the factors that influence immune activation and immune tolerance.
Main duties and responsibilities
The Lab is an interactive team conducting high-level research on mechanisms underlying regulatory T cell biology. Our group utilizes murine in vivo approaches to dissect the involved molecular and cellular pathways. The candidate will be involved in the development and subsequent analysis of novel mutant mice with focus on cellular aspects using high-parameter flow cytometry, immunologically relevant disease models, cellular interactions as well as in vitro immunoassays.
The candidate is expected to exhibit a high degree of independence alongside with strong motivation, excellent communication skills and analytical abilities. A dedicated willingness for multi-task is advantageous for this position.
The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and core facilities for flow cytometry, mutant mouse generation and others.
Profile
Ideal candidates will exhibit:
- At least two first author papers published and demonstrated written communication skills in English.
- A background in cellular Immunology preferentially with hands-on expertise in the above described skills.
We offer
Financial support is available for 2 years but the successful candidate is encouraged to obtain an independent fellowship (Marie-Curie, EMBO, or National funding organizations) during this time.
